European gen X here: milk, tea, water with sirup, apple juice. Soft drinks only at parties and pure water only when it was very hot.

As an older Gen Z, no one told us to stay hydrated to. We just saw the younger kids drinking water instead of the milk they were shoving down our throats and went "cool, let's drink THAT instead"

Up until 2012 I drank mostly Diet Pepsi. 2 liter bottles, 6 to 8 bottles a week. Did it for years. Then I got my first UTI. I drink mostly water now.

These daytime soap operas were my childhood and I’m only in high school when I was growing up I used to be at my grandmas house me and my cousins will be watching cartoons and she would be like OK I’ll give me the remote it’s time for my soaps and we could just all settle into the couch with blankets of popcorn

We lived in an old house and my dad accidentally drove over a pipe so we had to replace it, they were lazy and didn't want to fill the hole so or water froze. On a different lot we were living out of a camper and the hose that connected from the neighbors well want underground for a long time, we used every installation thing we could find but unless the sinks were dripping in winter, our water froze.

Nah, I'm Swiss and we still have yearly milk days at school where they give milk to all the kids and set up the lactose intolerant to bullying by difference intolerant 😭 (I'm not lactose intolerant)

Maybe it’s a cultural drink but growing up in a Mexican household we definitely drank water - now I was a child so I’m not saying I personally drank a lot haha but I was told to drink water & stay hydrated especially bc I started getting migraine early on & dehydration was a cause or a factor in me getting them.
